The Central American Youth Mineralogical Club is an educational initiative sponsored by Women in Mining (WIM) in Central America. It is specifically designed to engage families with children aged 8 to 13 who are interested in learning about rocks, minerals, fossils, and geology.
The main goal of the club is to foster interest and understanding of earth sciences among young people in the Central American region. Through practical and educational activities, participants have the opportunity to explore the fascinating world of mineralogy and geology in a fun and accessible way.
MiningiDEAS participated in these sessions with the children of Ecuador, with a presentation by Ariana Carrazana. In a hybrid session, she discussed "Mission to Space," covering topics ranging from rock classification to chemical composition.
