Mining Engineering

MiningiDEAS develops Engineering and project studies for mining projects in various stages: Profile, Pre-feasibility, and Feasibility. We advise our clients using our global experience, with the aim of achieving the highest industry standards in a context of good practices.

We focus on achieving the planned net present value of mining projects, continually reducing operational and capital costs, and bridging gaps to increase overall company productivity.

Our main activities include:

  • Medium and long-term mine planning Engineering
  • Ventilation Engineering for underground mines
  • Fire simulations
  • Fleet sizing studies
  • QA/QC for drilling and blasting
  • Technical and financial analysis for mining project feasibility studies
  • Drilling and Blasting

Our mindset is to achieve the Mine to Market concept, which aims to optimize processes from rock fragmentation to plant treatment and international marketing.

To achieve this, we focus on implementing technologies within the Mine to Mill concept through drilling and blasting processes, reducing the energy required in mining operations, crushing, and grinding stages.

We work with experts in all production stages in a multidisciplinary manner, developing strategies for continuous improvement throughout the mine's life cycle.

MiningiDEAS, through commercial agreements with Rocha Blast Engineers, provides specialized consulting and technical services on QA/QC and evaluation of factors controlling blasting efficiency. We deliver tools to our clients that enable proper cost management and optimization.

    Industrial Materials and Dimension Stones

Our technical expertise in mining extends to industrial materials and dimension stones. Some members of the MiningiDEAS team have worked in management and supervisory positions in significant mines of this type around the world. This provides us with the technical capacity to provide advice through Engineering studies on the following items:

    Coal Industry

  • Knowledge of Mining Methods: Longwall Mining with Retreat and Walking Stacks, Longwall Mining with Roof Supports, and Pillar Extraction
  • Tunneling: Using Tunnel Boring Machines and Conventional Blasting
  • Methane Control at the mining face: Automatic Manometry, Manual Manometry, Early Methane Detection
  • Methane Drainage: Pre-mining Drainage, Drainage of Finished and Sealed Areas
  • Galleries Maintenance: Excavation for Section Recovery, Shoring
  • Lime Industry

  • Our experience allows us to evaluate the physical and chemical quality of burnable limestones and dolomites, both for industrial lime production and construction lime production
  • Knowledge of Kiln Management: Gasifier (CO generation as fuel), LNG Gas Kilns, Mixed Bed (coal, charcoal, or residual petroleum coke), Automated Double-Chamber Kilns
  • Knowledge of Lime Hydration: Conventional Paddle Hydrators (calcium lime), Pressure Hydrators (dolomitic lime)
  • Crushing and Particle Size Classification of Quicklime
  • Quality Control of Lime for various applications
  • Bentonite

  • Characterization of Bentonite Deposits in terms of quality and type for potential applications. Crushing and Grinding. Emulsions
  • Applications: Drilling Mud, Water Purification and Clarification (wines, liquors, etc.), Mineral Filler
  • Bentonite Activation
