As part of the educational initiative of the Central American Youth Mineralogical Club, sponsored by Women in Mining (WIM), MiningiDEAS had the honor of participating in the 2024 sessions aimed at fostering interest in geology among children aged 8 to 13.
Ariana Carrazana, a representative of MiningiDEAS, delivered an inspiring talk titled "Discovering the Secrets of the Earth: Rocks, Minerals, and Some Pioneering Scholars of Our Planet." In this hybrid session, Carrazana explored the diversity of rocks and minerals, as well as the history of remarkable women in the field of geology, awakening curiosity and wonder among the young participants.
The club aims to bring earth sciences closer to Central American families, providing a unique space for children to learn about the fascinating world of mineralogy and geology in a fun and accessible way. This initiative not only seeks to educate but also to cultivate a new generation of science enthusiasts.
